What you'll be doing

Providing expert and strategic legal advice in highly regulated, but continuously evolving financial sector on corporate credit and transactions that effectively supports Bigbank in its everyday operations, contractual matters with its corporate customers and third parties, product development and duty to comply with relevant laws and regulations and internal procedures.

To help us achieve that goal, Estonian Corporate Banking Lawyer provides continuous support with consulting business units on regulatory requirements and contractual matters with Bigbank’s customers and partners. Additionally, Corporate Banking Lawyer will be working in an international team of lawyers on continuous improvement of existing products and carrying leading role in providing legal advice on new corporate products and business initiatives in Estonia.

      How you'll spend your day

      • Providing high quality and timely legal consultation and training to managers and employees of Bigbank on corporate credit, company and property law.
      • Drafting, reviewing and managing legal documentation (various product templates, cooperation agreements, internal regulations, etc.) and coordinating with involved parties.
      • Reviewing high value and/or complex corporate credit and collateral agreements and providing consultation on transaction structure, and ensuring their compliance with applicable legislation and internal procedures.
      • Supporting with product development for Bigbank’s corporate customers.
      • Ensuring daily consultation of the business units.
      • Participating in the work of international team of lawyers in development of existing and new credit products and business initiatives for Bigbank’s corporate customers.

      You'll be successful if

      • You have a university or equivalent degree in law (at least Bachelor’s degree, Master’s study can be ongoing).
      • You have at least 2 years of work experience as a legal counsel in a law firm, notary office, bank, investment firm, larger international company or similar position.
      • You have a very good knowledge of financial, corporate, credit and property law.
      • You have advanced knowledge of spoken and written Estonian and English.
      • You have excellent attention to detail and are able to meet agreed deadlines.
      • You handle well stress and routine and are a team player.
      • You have good analytical skills and ability to see a bigger picture.
      • You are an excellent communicator, presenter and are able to manage many projects simultaneously at a high-quality level.
